Abstract

The need for groups of individuals, within teams, coming together across various organisational functions, or working collectively within society, to collaborate, solve problems, and make decisions with sustainable long-term impact, has increased significantly in recent years. Facilitation, the act of making a process easier, is a valuable method to achieve constructive results by accessing the collective wisdom, skills, and energy of individuals, teams, and diverse groups of people (Personal and Applied Leadership, 2020). Due to the process-based nature of facilitation, it can be challenging to know how to best apply it to reach the desired outcomes. The intention of this paper is to provide: • Clarity on the range of possible facilitation approaches • A map of facilitation approaches and relevant methodologies • Useful facilitation tools to consider
