Item UP Library Presentations and Training/ Course guideline for Quality Assurance(UPDLS, 2021) Maimela, ChipaThe Department of Library Services is a strategic partner of the university to enhance Teaching and Learning using the library resources and the information available to achieve the University strategic Teaching and Learning interventions. The provision of quality presentations will therefore be not an option but a need to assist the library to achieve this goal.Item Feedback presentations : skills, services and products(University of Pretoria Library Services, 2017) Olivier, Elsabé; De Waal, Martha; Steyn, Christelle; Nsanzya, Brenda; Kriel, Hilda A.J.Item Feedback presentations : research(University of Pretoria Library Services, 2017) Pienaar, Heila; Van Wyk, Johann; Steynberg, Sunette; Buys, MarietaItem Feedback presentations : teaching and learning(University of Pretoria Library Services, 2017) Soyizwapi, Lindiwe; Ehlers, Gerda; Vermeulen, Julene; Van der Walt, Isak; Marsh, SusanItem e-Strategy 2012: results and progress(2012-12-05) heila.pienaar@up.ac.za; Pienaar, Heila; Swanepoel, Soekie; Lessing, Anette; Groenewald, Hettie; Steyn, Christelle; Daniels, Leonard; Groenewald, M.E.; Van Wyk, Johann; De Kock, Bettie; Randall, Elna; Olivier, ElsabéMain event of 2012 was the e-Strategy Marketing and Training Event that was held in September. Marketed as ‘Out of the e-Box’ symposium and training workshops. Overdrive (e-Fiction) investigation, implementation, training and marketing can be seen as another important corporate e-Initiative. In the beginning of 2012 the Library IT section became part of the ‘Innovation & Technology’ division. This was an important step as dedicated IT expertise could now be integrated into the e-Strategy.During 2012 the e-Literacy and Library Catalogue managers also joined the e-Service unit and their skills are an added bonus for the e-Strategy. Most of the e-Strategy focus areas staff are now on level 2 and it has improved the collaboration between the different areas tremendously! Focus area leaders from Client Services and Library Technical Services continued to add value to the e-Strategy. The biggest focus in 2012 was mobile developments (although quite ad hoc!) and this will also receive attention in 2013.Item The UP Library e-Strategy 2012 and the role of Information Specialists(2012-07-20) heila.pienaar@up.ac.za; Pienaar, Heila; De Kock, Bettie; Van Wyk, Johann; Groenewald, Hettie; Randall, Elna; Olivier, Elsabé; Groenewald, M.E.; De Wee, Janice A.; Steyn, Christelle; Swanepoel, Soekie; Wydeman, LeonoraThe University of Pretoria Library Services e-Strategy (Innovation and Technology) 2012 is described with the emphasis on the role that Information Specialists can play. e-Strategy focus areas: e-Research, e-Learning, e-Resources, Open Scholarship, Web 2 tools, Gamification, Digitisation and Preservation, Mobile Services, Repositories, Library Web.Item Creating an e-environment for scholarship : dream or reality?(2010-06) Pienaar, Heila; heila.pienaar@up.ac.zaA short presentation about the Library's e-Strategy, its governance and examples of products of the e-Strategy in support of scholarship.Item Visit of the Principal, Prof C de la Rey to the UP Library, 18 June 2010(http://www.slideshare.net/heila1/visit-of-the-principal-prof-c-de-la-rey-to-the-up-library-18-june-2010, 2010) Pienaar, Heila; Kriel, Hilda A.J.; Satgoor, Ujala; heila.pienaar@up.ac.zaLibrary Mandate Mission, Vision, Values Library Strategies 2006-2010 Library structure Key strategies: Enable Teaching & Learning Enable Research e-Strategy Community & Professional engagement Quality Assurance & Staff development Strategic planning process: 2011-2015Item Using the Balanced Scorecard to formulate your library’s e-Strategy(http://www.slideshare.net/heila1/using-the-balanced-scorecard-to-formulate-your-librarys-estrategy, 2009-08-21) Pienaar, Heila; Van Deventer, Martha Johanna; heila.pienaar@up.ac.zaContent: The Balanced Scorecard; Web / Library 2; Creating an e-Strategy within the framework of the Balanced Scorecard; PracticalItem Visits to libraries, London, 18-19 September 2008 and DC-2008 Conference, Berlin, Germany, 23-25 September 2008 : feedback at the Information Specialist Meeting, 7 October 2008 and Metadata Editors Meeting, 11 November 2008(2009-02-17T11:49:44Z) Breytenbach, AmeliaReport-back at the Information Specialist Meeting, 7 October 2008 and Metadata Editors Meeting, 11 November 2008) on visits to libraries in London, England and attendance at the DC-2008 Conference, Berlin, Germany, 23-25 September 2008.Item The keys to customer delight!(2008-09-01T10:03:59Z) Hlabangwane, Sindy; Sindy.Hlabangwane@up.ac.zaPresented to Information Specialists, Dept. of Library Services, University of Pretoria on 15 April 2008.Item Open scholarship : authority, community and sustainability in the age of web 2.0 - feedback on the ELPUB 2008 conference(2008-07-23) Olivier, Elsabé; elsabe.olivier@up.ac.zaFeedback session to the Library E-steering committe on the attendance of the ELPUB 2008 conference in Toronto, Canada and the official visits to CISTI and the IDRC in Ottowa, June 2008.Item Study visit to Egypt : Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) & National Library and Archives, 18-21 February 2008(2008-03-26T11:33:11Z) Pienaar, Heila; Groenewald, M.E.; Smith, Ina; heila.pienaar@up.ac.zaItem Visit to University Libraries in the US by Mr J van Wyk and Mr H Mphidi 8 April 2003 to 3 May 2003(2007-11-14T07:56:32Z) johann.vanwyk@up.ac.za; Van Wyk, JohannThis is a feedback report on a study visit by Mr Johann van Wyk and Mr Hamilton Mphidi from 8 April - 3 May 2003, to libraries in the United States on behalf of the Faculty of Education and the Academic Information Service of the University of Pretoria.
