Abstract:

Advocate Charles te Water (1906-1964) was the South African High Commissioner in London during the 1930's. In 1947 he became the first President of the Northern Transvaal branch of the Arts Association. He acted as the Chancellor of the University of Pretoria from 1949-1964.

Bronze bust by the artist June te Water (1924-), grand daughter of the sitter. In the portrait he is wearing his chancellor’s robe The bronze portrait is in the Collection of the University of Pretoria as well as the original mold. Photograph taken postcard size with Kodak camera 150dpi. Photograph edited due to quality of lighting
