Toekoms van die mynboubedryf in Suid-Afrika
Leiding, F.Q.P.; University of Pretoria. Dept. of Mining Engineering
This address stresses the fact that South Africa is endowed with more
mineral resources per area unit than any other country in the world; that
up to now we have made good use of these resources and that in the
future the world will turn increasingly to South Africa to supply its insatiable
needs of raw materials.
Attention is drawn, however, to a number of problems facing the mining
industry, and methods are proposed by which these problems may be overcome
in order that we may achieve our objectives, one of which is to
develop our principal asset - our people - to such a level of technological
and managerial proficiency that South Africa will have an advantage in the
international economy.
