Abstract:

Contemporary Bantu Law curricula are narrowed to a study of Bantu Customary Law, in particular the private law thereof. To these certain South African statute laws are added. In this lecture it is submitted that the ambit of the Bantu Law curriculum be extended in order to include all laws operating exclusively in respect of Bantu. Hereby legal scientists can render a positive contribution to the solution of the legal and also ethnic problems facing the peoples of contemporary and future Southern Africa.
