In this contribution three models of the organisation of theology have been described: seminaries, a combination of university and church responsibilities, and free standing theological school and faculties with a contract
with a church or with churches. The interests of the various players in the field - churches, universities, governments, students - have been listed, and the models are being evaluated in relation with their potencies to meet the
requirements of the emerging secular and religiously plural society.
