Bantoetaalkunde as beskrywende taalwetenskap
Van Wyk, E.B. (Egidius Benedictus), 1929-; University of Pretoria. Dept. of Bantu Languages
During the period following the return of Bantu linguistics from predominantly diachronic interests to problems of a purely descriptive nature, the Department of Bantu Languages at the University of Pretoria had to find its own way between the various conflicting schools of thought which had arisen. The purpose of this address is to give a survey of some of the views of the Department on the general basis of descriptive linguistics as applicable to Bantu languages.
