COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: Synthetic breed of South Africa, developed at Mara research station in the Transvaal province in 1937.
SIZE: Medium.
COLOUR: Red-brown to light red-brown.
PURPOSE: Beef.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Prof Jan C. Bonsma scientifically cross-bred 3 types resulting in the Bonsmara: 3/16 Hereford 3/16 Shorthorn 5/8 Afrikaner.

Description

The colour slides have been scanned with a HP ScanJet 5590 scanner; 24-bit true colour, 600 dpi, saved in JPEG-format. Downscaling was done with Adobe Photoshop.
