Abstract
Short biography to reflect on the life and work of the scientist Max Theiler, youngest child of Sir Arnold Theiler, who died on 11 August 1972. Max Theiler's work was of importance in the light of his discoveries concerning yellow fever and his pioneer efforts to understand the arthropod-borne viruses.
